COVID vaccine injuries are NOT currently covered by the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP).
Instead, COVID vaccine injury claims are handled through the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). This program offers limited benefits, does not pay your attorney fees, and does not allow appeals.
Because of how the CICP works, our firm does not assist with filing claims in that program. You can learn more about the difference between the VICP and the CICP here.We believe COVID vaccines may be added to the VICP in the future. If and when that happens, you may be able to file a claim through the VICP and our firm would be able to help with those cases.
More information about the CICP and how to file a claim can be found here: CICP and Who Can File for Benefits
What Happens Next for COVID Vaccine Injuries?
- If the COVID vaccine is added to the VICP, we will contact you right away if we believe you have a potential claim.
- You can expect to get email updates related to COVID vaccine injuries and the VICP. These emails will be infrequent and you are free to unsubscribe at any time.
- You can expect the attorneys at mctlaw to continue putting pressure on government officials to compensate people injured by COVID vaccines through the VICP.
Steps You Can Take Right Now to Prepare
- Request and save copies of medical records related to your COVID vaccine injury. If COVID vaccines are added to the VICP and we believe you may have a claim, these are the records we’ll ask to review:
- Your COVID vaccine card or administration record (showing the date of vaccination and vaccine name).
- Records from the first visit to a doctor or medical facility where you reported symptoms after the vaccination.
- Records that show your diagnosis.
- Records from the last visit to your treating doctor if treatment has ended. If you are still receiving care, keep copies from each visit.
