23 Year Old Woman Recovering from GBS After Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine

A healthy and active 23-year-old air force mechanic fights to recover from Guillain-Barré Syndrome after receiving a nasal spray vaccine.  According to a story in The Air Force Times, Airman 1st Class Lori Cord became almost completely paralyzed from GBS.  It’s taken her months of physical therapy and medical treatment to regain 50% of her mobility.  Her doctors say they don’t know how she developed Guillain Barre Syndrome, but Cord started having symptoms of GBS about a week after getting a mandatory flu vaccine.  Cord is quoted as saying, “the docs aren’t going to say on the record that the vaccine started it.” However, the CDC does state that GBS can be triggered by a vaccine.

The attorneys at mctlaw have handled flu vaccine-triggered Guillain-Barré Syndrome cases on a regular basis for years.  They are experienced at representing patients in front of the United States Court of Federal Claims, sometimes referred to as the “Vaccine Court.”  Filing a claim in the VICP is complicated and time-consuming, but compensation in the form of cash settlements helps those injured put their lives back together.
