What does the Court of Federal Claims do?

The US Court of Federal Claims (CFC) is a national court. You can file a claim in the CFC no matter where you’re located.

  • There are no jury trials in the Court. If a case goes to trial, the judge will make the decision.
  • The Department of Justice (DOJ) defends each case for the government.
  • In 2020, there were 140 claims related to government contracts resolved through the US Court of Federal Claims.
