Managing workforce issues in the ever changing legal landscape requires
timely, expert and practical advice. The Firm provides counsel, training
and litigation services in the areas of labor and employment for our
management and executive clients, as well as employment-based litigation
services.
Our labor practice includes union avoidance and campaign response,
collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice charges,
strike contingency planning, grievance and arbitration representation,
and representation before the National Labor Relations Board and in
state and federal court.
Our employment practice is characterized by advice and counsel involving
all workplace issues including, recruitment and hiring, employee relations,
compensation and benefits, reorganization and reductions in force,
discipline and termination, and compliance with all employment-related
statutes. We develop and conduct supervisory, human resources and
employee training, including sexual harassment and diversity. We draft
and review employee policies, procedures and handbooks; affirmative
action plans and company compliance; substance abuse policies and
testing procedures; stock option and phantom stock plans; and employment,
confidentiality, arbitration and non-competition agreements. Our immigration
practice encompasses employment-based visas (B,E,J,H, L,TN,O) and
permanent resident applications.
Our employment litigation expertise includes the advancement and defense
of claims in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and
appellate court venues, regarding claims of discrimination, wrongful
termination, employment torts (such as invasion of privacy, defamation,
interference with advantageous relationships), contract enforcement
and breach, FLSA and ERISA violations, and unemployment compensation
appeals.
